Window Cleaning at Deep Sea Electronics
Deep Sea Electronics, based near the seaside town of Scarborough, has an unusual and many faceted façade. This makes it a wonderfully challenging building to window clean. Like many buildings of a certain design cleaning the interior and exterior windows takes some additional consideration.
The Project
As a fairly new client, we have developed a well organised plan for maintaining the windows in this building. We take care to plan out our work well in advance, providing the customer with a pre-approved work schedule with the site Operations Manager advising us the most efficient route for the works on the day.
Duration: 1 day
Services included:
- Internal window cleaning – 6 Monthly
- External window cleaning – Bi Monthly
Challenges
As with any busy commercial business, we have to ensure that our work minimises the impact to the site workers and doesn’t interfere with their continuous operation. Scheduling the work accordingly is key to a seamless and stress-free experience. The unusual layout of the building requires us to use a careful approach to cleaning, so as to avoid any damage to the facade or frames that are relatively fragile in comparison to modern buildings. This is a building where care and attention are crucial and careful consideration given to cleaning the interior windows working around sensitive machinery.
Solutions
Our window cleaning team have all the relevant qualifications with Lightowler proud to have Safecontractor, IOSH, CHAS accreditation and all ISO accreditations. Our team regularly look after many other commercial businesses such as this one and are well versed in working with the client to secure the best outcome. For the internal window cleaning of areas around sensitive machinery the areas are sectioned off and made secure.
Our Operations Manager arranged to survey the works with Deep Sea Electronics in advance prior to operatives arriving. At this time an effective sequence in which to carry out the work was agreed. This was transcribed onto a plan and handed to the team supervisor prior to project start.
We used both Pole Fed and High Access cleaning techniques, both incorporating the latest technology in pure water window cleaning. Benefits include:
- Window cleaning up to a height of 30 metres.
- Pure hot water drawn from our own vehicles means there are no dried ‘spots’ left behind on the glass.
- Reduced health and safety risks.
- Cleans windows, frames and cladding (where required)
- Reaches previously inaccessible windows with ease.
- Environmentally friendly, as no chemicals are ever used.
- Saves money
