Intergreen UK Ltd is a large-scale specialist supplier of supermarket flowers, based in Newport, East Yorkshire.
Lightowler was delighted to be approached to work with Intergreen to complete a specialist high-level cleaning project of its internal plants warehouse in preparation of the busy holiday season. Maintaining a clean facility is extremely important to Intergreen to ensure the integrity of its plants and a great working environment for the team.
We provided specialist cleaning, including:
- High-level factory cleaning
- High-level metal work cleaning
- Cleaning of ceiling light fittings
- Cleaning of gutters and cladding
- Deep cleaning of air conditioning units and fittings
High-level cleaning is a specialised and, at times, dangerous/difficult job. It requires skill, experience, qualifications, good operational control and careful management. Our experience and successful completion of previous high-level cleans in challenging environments proved very useful.
The challenge
Our special works team collaborated with Intergreen to tackle logistical challenges. One challenge included production pressures that meant Intergreen wasn’t able to entirely clear the areas that required attention. The team was in close contact with Intergreen’s health and safety teams, as well as its managers on the ground to safely work around the team without hindering the day-to-day planting, picking and packing processes.
As part of all high-level special works cleaning, we follow a strict protocol for projects including:
- A full site survey by an experienced and IOSH trained Manager
- A written record of all customer requirements and site-specific plan
- A detailed Risk Assessment and Method Statement
- An on-site team leader to manage the work backed up by a local manager to project manage the clean and for help in case of emergencies
